Rhodochrosite stalactite pieces are especially collectible due to the "bulls eye" patterning and the bright rich reds that these pieces exhibit. The name Rhodochrosite is derived from the Greek word ῥοδόχρως meaning rose colored. They form slowly over time as they create the beautifully banded specimens.
